Welcome to Johnny Appleseed School!

We hope that your family's time here will be a rewarding and enriching experience. We'd like to take this opportunity to explain a little about the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) at Johnny Appleseed. Our PTO is "open door" and "hands on" — every parent or guardian of a JA student is invited and encouraged to participate.

Our school is truly fortunate to have extremely dedicated and generous parent and staff volunteers, all investing time, energy and funding to make Johnny Appleseed School a wonderful place to learn. We realize that our volunteers' time and resources are important and appreciate whatever each parent can give to our school. Our aim is to give parents the opportunity to become involved with their child's education because so many parents realize how important that involvement is to their child's success in school. Reading to your child's class, helping out with the Book Fair, chaperoning field trips, and participating in teacher-led classroom projects are just some of the activities that are available to parents during the school day.

There are also many ways to get involved and meet other parents outside of the classroom. Led by a representative board, the PTO holds monthly evening meetings, typically the first Tuesday of the month to accommodate work schedules. The meetings provide up-to-date information on JA's fundraising efforts, allow for open discussion, and often address current topics of interest to parents. The PTO has many volunteer opportunities — there is something for everyone who wants to get involved regardless of time constraints. Parent volunteers send the message to their children that they care — about them and about their school. The results of the investment by the PTO in our students and the school is visible not only by walking the halls, but by seeing its effect on our children's education. We look forward to meeting and working with you all!
