BRING IN $1 FOR FESTIVE CLOTHING DAY WED 12/21!
Sadly, one of our own Staff members at JA has lost their home and belongings to a devastating fire. We are hoping to come together as a school community once again to help out. We will be sponsoring a Festive Clothing Day in Wednesday December 21st. This can include holiday sweaters, headbands, hats, etc... If you would like to participate please bring in $1.00 by Wednesday. Thank you for your support and generosity.

As a last minute addition Natures Vision has arrived and will be available for pick up as well from 5:00 - 7:00.  There will be an additional pick up time that will be determined soon if this does not work for you.

Discounted rates for the Johnny Appleseed Ski and Snowboard Club for Grades 3-5 end Dec. 1, 2016


The Johnny Appleseed Ski and Snowboard Club is an eight week program at Wachusett Mountain starting on January 8th, 2016.

Ski Club will be held 4:30pm - 8:30pm on January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19 and 26, 2016.

An eight-week lift badge or a Season's pass may be purchased.  Teachers and parents of those students are entitled to discounted rates too.

Lessons are available for six weeks from 6 PM - 7 PM and
equipment is available to rent.  Parents and teachers may also take lessons.

8 Week Lift Badge thru 12/1/16    $130 
8 Week Rental of Ski or Snowboard Equipment      $110
Season Rental of Ski or Snowboard Equipment $179
6 Week One-Hour Ski or Snowboard Lesson $60
8 Week Helmet Rental $24
Season Passes are also available on line at a discounted rate.

Parents/Guardians are responsible for the transportation of students to and from Wachusett Mountain.

This week at School
  • Thanksgiving Food Drive-Thank you if you have already sent donations in! Kindergarten-canned soup, crackers
    Grade One-packaged dessert mix, muffin mix, bread mix
    Grade Two-boxed/packaged potatoes, stuffing, rice
    Grade Three-boxed pasta, sauce
    Grade Four-canned vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce
    Grade Five-packaged breakfast items, cereal, pancake mix, syrup

  • Book Fair ALL WEEK-Check your child's schedule, send in cash or check, and join them shopping if you can. If not, we have plenty of volunteers ready to help your little shopper. And if you forgot your money bring it in the next day and shop for books.(Did you know that your teachers have book wish lists for their classrooms? You can also buy a gift certificate for your teacher at the Book Fair)
  •  Holiday Plant Sale ALL WEEK-Check with friends/family and send in your orders BY Friday. Beautiful poinsettias and wreaths from local growers. Plant/Wreath pick-up is Wed 11/30 from 3:00-7:00 in the cafeteria.

Holiday Plant Sale/Book Fair

Look in your child's backpack for our Holiday Plant Sale order forms! 
Order your Poinsettias, Christmas Cactus, and Holiday Wreaths
just in time for the holiday season. Plant pick up is Wed Nov 30th from 3:00-7:00.
All funds help support the JA playground. 


 Next week is our fall Book Fair, Nov 14th-Nov18th!

Friday Night is the night!!  
Bring your whole family for a fun night of fitness.  Join other members of the JA Community along with Physical Education Teacher Kelly Bernard from 5:30 - 7:00 in the gym for a night of fitness activities for the whole family.  (No prior experience required).  Cost is $5.00/family and should be paid at the door.  Snacks will be provided and each family gets to take home a gift!!  



Nature's Vision is Here


We are excited to roll out our newest fundraiser, Nature's Vision.  There are great products for the whole family and they make great Christmas gifts.  Earlier this week at our PTO meeting people were able to see samples of the products and many commented the quality was top notch and the blankets were extra soft.  Plus, for every 12 items your child sells they can pick ANY 1 item out of the catalog for themselves!!  Please email jaschoolpto@gmail.com with any questions or comments!!

We're off to see the Wizard.... And other fun stuff coming up!

Friday is our fun event celebrating our Fall Read aloud, The Wizard of Oz!  There is a fun day planned for your kids.


Books and Beyond kicks off Thursday, October 27th.   For every 15 books your child reads they will move up 1 level.  Look for flyers and sheets to come home this week.



Our Next PTO meeting is Tuesday, November 1st.  Join us in the cafeteria at 7:00pm.  Find out how we did with magazines, the exciting events coming up for November and December, see items from our next fundraiser and see old and new friends!  There will be prizes raffled off too!1  Bring a friend, get an extra raffle ticket!!

Last night was our first PTO meeting and it was a SUCCESS! We had new faces, homemade goodies, and great conversation! THANK YOU! Our meetings are about having knowledge of upcoming events and discussion on what you want more information on. You don't need to sign your life away, just come and see what it is about, share your questions, and help make a difference in your child's school/community.
Our next meeting is Tuesday November 1st, plan now and bring a friend!

Welcome to October!!


October is shaping up to be a busy month.  Here are the fun things planned for this week!!

Monday, October 3rd - Magazine drive kicks off!  Sell, Sell, Sell and get lots of fun prizes.  Packets should go home on Monday.  We are looking for a few people to help with tallying orders and distributing prizes from 9-11am.  If this is something you would like to help with please email JASchoolPTO@gmail.com.

Tuesday, October 4th - Picture Day!!  Smile and say cheese!!

Tuesday, October 4th - 7:00 PM 2016-2017 Kick Off PTO meeting.  Come meet new friends and say hello to old ones.  This is your chance to be involved in what happens in YOUR school.  Come learn about the fun events we have in store this year, enjoy some yummy goodies, meet your PTO leadership team and share with us your thoughts and ideas for a great school year.

Wednesday, October 5th - Walk to School!  Make sure you have filled out the permission slip and your child is at school by 8:05.  Children will be then be bused to Our Lady or the Lake church and will Walk to School together!!  Parents are welcome but are asked to park at the church across the street and take the shuttle bus from there.

Friday, October 7th - Professional Day!  No School!!

Monday, October 10th - Columbus Day!  No School!!

This is just the beginning of the month.  Books and Beyond kicks off October 28th and the first cutoff for Box Tops is October 15th!
